Well, short passing since you have no winger. But it's always better to have a winger so you can have a couple of tricks up your sleeve. The last tactic you used is fine. Maybe the players are too spaced out. I'm not sure if that's a problem on senior matches (would be if we were talking about u18). But the tactic makes sense. You can probably check some guide to take a look at some tactics and experiment. Wings are far superior. So if you want to play boring mundane football. Then just adapt your team to wings. Whatever anyone tells you. I assure you the tactics are not equal.
