Sim hasn’t changed

Badge image
Been away for 3 years
Thought I’d come back see how things have progressed with the game ….
Played a match v wings tactic today against a weaker team
3 shots against me - 3 goals
I had 16 shots 0 goals (going narrow)
Amazing to see how absolutely nothing has changed with this game in 3 years - still hugely beneficial to bizarre wing tactics and that every team has to play the same way to win games. Great fun in that !!
Thankfully I’m staying as a non club member but shame to see this issue still exists

Welcome back, but I mean you're wrong.
There is a much better balance between wing and pass now, but you must of course have players who fit the tactics you want to use.

He can't be wrong because the SIM we had 3 years ago is the same we have today, no adjustements or modifications have been made. Crew won't modify the SIM without informing the community about the changes.

You can access the change log here btw: https://www.managerzone.com/?p=change_log

Last time the SIM 2.xx was modified was in 2016 when it was updated to version 2.40 which should be the one we're still using.

Most of the top teams use more then 1 tactics since there is always a counter tactic. If you go Wing tactic only i highly doubt you win anything on the highest level.

To be honest I won a Champions Cup and got close to win the top world league & won several other cups playing exclusively wings tactics, with short passing you create lots of chances but convert few, there are a few specific scenarios in which you can play a short passing tactic but I'd still probably choose a wings tactic anyway.

Anyway, you can play short passing tactics under some specific circumstances, but 99% of the times wings is just more effective.

I'm close to leaving due to this, I'm trying to understand why I waste my energy the game doesn't actually want to do anything.

Its just pathetic at this point.

If you check the winners in World League the past seasons (check the leader this season, he mixes his tactics) you see a mix of tactics used for most of the teams. If wing tactics would be better all the time managers in the top would never use shortpass if it was inferior.

If you watch the actually matches most of the time those Short Passing tactics turn into wing tactics and they are used as a mask to deceive their actual tactic. Wing tactics are superior and there’s no doubt about it. Playing Short passing for part of a game is very common in the top leagues though but predominantly wing tactics

Last 5 world league games he played 2 wings and 3 ge started narrow but as expected when he was losing he switched to wings
So ultimately played wings all 5
It’s fine it is what it is im just saying the game hasn’t changed as u can play with 1 winger and 1 striker and play wings and it is enough to win as it just plays out lopsided. Real games I get wings is used but it’s never just one winger.
Personally if when u play wings u have to have one on each side otherwise the tactic is invalid that would b a lot more realistic. If u wana play wings use them both like in real life not this strange lopsided tactic
But as i say if that’s how it goes it’s how it goes

I don't think you get what i am saying, I never proclaimed that it was a pure shortpassteam, i said " a mix of tactics used for most teams" this is becouse depending how the defence is placed diffrent tactics would be optimal. If you always play wing tactic vs the top teams you will be at a dissatvandtage. it is becouse there is no "Superior tacctic" it is more to make sure you dont get countertacticed. ANd if YOU watch the games you would see that there is much more time that is played in shortpass then just a few min to mask the tactics.

Hi, and what is your opinion on these matches? The team "JuSi Malacky" was in first place after the 11th round. In the last three matches, however, he lost or drew shamefully. And again, he thinks about not throwing everything behind his head ... Is it fair?

Well not really, with similar teams wings is always superior to short passing, you just need to have the correct wing tactic, the main difference is how you setup your defense and your wing attack, there are a few wing tactics that when attacking are sort of hybrid between a short passing & wing attack depending on how your opponent sets their defense.

So this is the issue, a couple of times with the NC I played short passing on some very specific games because I could choose players that I could use on that tactic, but realistically you won't build a team around short passing tactics because it's not something you'll use everyday, so unless you have a huge budged and can afford to pay a fortune for player with at least 80 total balls that can play both styles, you have to build a team around wing tactics because a wing tactics team is a lot cheaper to build, you need a good winger and a good striker that can head the ball into the net but the other 8 field players on your team can be average and you will still get good results, now if you're planning on using short passing, you need 10 top tier players, if you use 10 average players you're giving an advantage to your opponent.

So in a jist

Top wing team vs Top short passing team = Short passing can get an advantage depending on tactics/countertactics

Average wing team vs Top Short passing = Even game.

Average wing team vs Average Short passing team = Advantage to Wings

This is more evident on U18 competitions, every top U18 team has players with about the same amount of total balls for obvious reasons, with similar teams the advantage is always to wings and therefore, all top U18 teams play wings.

Last time his opening 11 players had a friendly match was 1.2.2022. Thats over 3 weeks ago his form on those players must be pretty weak, would like to see those players. Not Even sure how his keeper has 9 form maybe he used form token before putting him into The market.

Last time my starting 11 played a friendly match was in 2006 😁

He's playing friendly leagues so his team should have good form, also almost every player on his team is an NT player so I'm guessing he has a reasonable good team.
