Is it worth resting players when they start losing skill balls or should I just keep training them normally?
Not sure why I do it, but when players start dropping skills I have just rested them onwards but think I am wasting potential skills in other areas.

No- absolutely no point in resting them. You should still be training them in other unmaxed skills

No, it won't change anything and he continues to lose two balls in stamina and speed

It's unnecessary to train him in secondary skills, it will only increase more his salary in the next season.

I havent thought about this before…say u have a defensive midfielder maxed in all midfielder skills, but have just 1 ball inn heading and shooting… leaving the two latter at that will keep the salary down while not making him a worse player in his role…

I get the concept but I don’t like it. The name of the game is the have the best possible players to allow you to win as many games as possible. Intentionally not training your players to their potential seems a little silly to me. If you can’t afford the players you shouldn’t have them in the first place.
Total numbers of balls a player has definitely is effected in the sim too so you’d want as many as possible alwaysEdited: 13-09-2021 00:22

That's wrong, the total number of balls is important.

Maybe, but we don't really know how the sim works.

Who has prescribed what is exactly the primary skills for each position? I have seen plenty of people opine in the forum's but how do we actually know what is primary and what is secondary?

Primary skills by definition are only keeping, tackling and shooting. Basically they define what position a player plays on the field.
With introduction of wing play some years ago, these have changed a little and the importance of other secondary skills are edging towards being primary. E.g. the three listed primary skills aren’t needed for a typical winger so his primary would be aerial passing
It is subjective though and different people will hand different opinions
