Foreign player allowed?
By bc-ad - 16-10-2020 06:51
I have 2 oversea players and bid on 2 more knowing I have to pay for 1 on the 3 player rule, but why when one player has been out bid should I still have to pay for other player when he will make it 3 not 4.?

You shouldn’t have to pay for the third player but if you are bidding on two at the same time which ever player you bid on second will be the player you need to player the work permit for. If you are being over bid then the in theory “4th foreign player” will be the one you will need to pay the permit for.

It's actually an interesting question, I would imagine if you get only 1 of the 2 players you're bidding, you won't get charged for a work permit but it could also be as chucky is saying... truth is, never been on that situation so I don't know for sure but I'd like to know too :)

Hi, been in that exact situation and had to pay the work permit although technically I only had 3 overseas players...
Does anyone know why # of days a player has been in a particular country is counted & shown? Is it of any relevance when signing a player? Thx!

You would have had to pay for the 3rd because at the time of the bid it must have counted as the fourth. When you bid it locks in the permit until a rebid even if the other player is overbid.
It records days mainly for re-sale profit benefit

When they first introduced work permits there was a requirement that a player had put in a certain number of days (I think it was 45) in a country to be eligible for a work permit in that country. The counter is a hold over from that time.

I get the reason why this happens but it's a flaw on the system IMO, it should be calculated at the point the transaction is completed instead of when you place a bid on a player.

The current way prevents teams going into negative finances. The way it’s done now makes sure you have the funds to pay for the player and the permit.

But the money can be reserved and then the system could just perform a check to verify the permit is still needed or not when the sale is completed 24 hours after you win the player.
