[SUG] Implement a transfer window

The transfer market is not exactly thriving. The current fix of just pumping more cash into the game through tours and what not is terrible. As we become fewer and fewer users the market will only continue to decline.

Suggestion:
Two transfer windows each season. A two-week window in the season break and a one week window in the middle of the season (dates might have to be offset for U23 players to match the youth season).

Pros:
1) I´ve personally missed out on a lot of players throughout the years just because I didn't check the market every three days. I bet the average manager also doesn't check too often. With short transfer windows, no one will miss out on the bidding when a good player is listed.
2) It will be easier to find the right player when you have the full selection of players for sale for half a season at a time.
3) Players will become more expensive in a natural way by being exposed to more possible buyers.
4) More decision making. You really need to set your team, and you might even need to buy an extra player or two just to make sure your team can shine in the weeks after the transfer window closes.
5) No more of that one team selling out at odd times throughout the season resulting in easy wins for some teams but not others.
6) More realistic compared to real football.
7) Easy easy easy implementation (we all know how important this is to Stillfront´s investors, who can probably only see in $$$). Keep the market open for player listings and bids just as it is now, but make it so deadlines can only be set in the defined transfer windows.

Cons:
1) It will be more difficult to buy a cheap player and to take advantage of an inactive market.
2) One thing less to do when the transfer window is closed making the game more boring during this period.
3) Some years ago this implementation would have made it more time consuming checking all the transfers for cheaters. The 24 hour waiting period before the player arrival could have needed an extension. But fortunately, we know that MZ doesn´t check for cheaters anymore, so this shouldn´t be an issue. /S

Cons:

4) New users won't be able to use the transfer market for a long time and will discourage them.

5) Potentially players will be fired instead of placed on the transfer market, specially players that might be worth money for someone but not for the owner who might not want to keep paying a salary waiting for the market to open, player might be worth a lot less by then. Think a U21 player with good secondary skills that maxes on 7 stamina, useful for a U21 team but not useful for someone with a senior team.

6) People might be on holiday or not able to check the market during the transfer window, which in turn might cause some managers to quit the game.

Cons:

7) Managers who find themselves in a financial pinch will no longer be able to avoid bankruptcy by selling off a player or two outside of these window and more teams may wind up going belly up - further frustrating managers and reducing the number of active users.

I don’t like the idea at all to be honest. The ability to sell and buy whenever you want is a major part of the game. Planning your season out, selling that player who maxing in a skill.

Having a transfer window would only help the rich and any new or moderate level clubs wouldn’t be able to compete in the market or have to pay massive overs for players. Currently they can find bargains all year round and be able to build a roster that way.

You have missed the point.

Being able to peruse the transfer market all the time is one of the things that keeps people logging in every day, people logging in everyday equals money being spent equals profit. This is a business.

Never in a million years going to implement a transfer window, sorry you wasted your time.

Thank you all for your feedback.

MZ is about patience in most of its aspects. But I totally get this. When I signed up for MZ as a 13 years old kid, I had to wait for 14 days before I could access the transfer market (as a non-CM member). Felt like quite the wait back then. (I don´t know if this is still a "feature") It did feel special to get access, though.

Yeah, that´s not good.

I believe this game would be more fun if there were an actual risk of bankruptcy. I cannot recall any team ever going bankrupt without being inactive, actually. But that's just my personal opinion and I understand that MZ shouldn´t jeopardize to lose any frustrated bankrupt users.

The new or moderate level clubs would also be able to earn more from their sales. But yeah, it would be as good as impossible for new or moderate level clubs to compete with the rich clubs on the good players. I agree with that.

Oh, my time has not been wasted ;-) MZ needs to evolve to keep its users login in at all. Now we know one way not to evolve the game.
