Am I wasting money on this game?

Badge image
It seems Canada has a huge issue with a certain teams constantly being able to buy young high potential players from teams created for a short period of time and then deleted. I don't have to name names, all you have to do is go look at the amount of players for sale from these teams where the player was purchased for a ridiculously low price, the team has an asterisk next to its name indicating its been deleted, and a season later the player is worth millions.

But here I am putting money into a game that clearly has some abuse going on with very little oversight. The game used to rely on common logins, common IP's etc but now we are faced with the thought of people who can spoof themselves a new IP in minutes and with a flagging userbase there are less admins, and who's watching them? Whats being done? Should I as well create feeder teams that will create some great talents? Now with the potential system you can see relatively early on who will be a star, train them as youth to 18 with medium levels in major skills, hide the potential on transfer, buy them, delete the team, rinse and repeat.

I don't buy for a second the fact that these teams can miraculously and repeatedly develop high quality talents from so many deleted teams.

You need to make a ticket and contact support. Nothing can be solved here in the forums.

Thank you

I can confirm for a fact there is a user in the Scottish Premier League who is already doing this and getting away with it after a ticket being raised by myself and others within that league.

Yet he’s still playing the game because the issue was “very complex”

Don’t waste your time or money. They don’t care enough about their game so why should you, simple.

I no longer buy Club Memberships for reasons like this and the overall development/growth of the game simply put it's not worth $50+ a year per sport. I've played MZ for a long time and the sims for the most part have not changed enough to warrant that price tag. Most updates/changes these days are cosmetic and sometimes useless, the 2D update the other day...who cares? Why would you waste time watching a simulated match when you know the sim is garbage? And again cosmetic change. The new scout report, a new way to view info built on top of the same outdated system, cosmetic. Deterioration is a cosmetic change nobody wanted but got anyway with no change to player training speed or youth starting total balls/pucks. Don't mean to rant but it is what it is, worst part is we can't complain about cheats in the forum cause it's mean? not nice? looks bad on crew? against the rules? SMH. To answer your question YES you are wasting money on this game, even if you absolutely love playing it, CM's don't even give you access to any of the other leagues just Cups and a bunch of mostly useless features, so on top of the $50, you gotta pay for WL and Uxx leagues which have likely led to more cheating and unbalance, specifically managers looking for top young players. Once my remaining PT run out dunno how long i'll stick around unless I gift them haha. I agree with ps3assasin, they don't care so why should you? Better things to waste money on like candy!

Realistically there's no way to actually win in this game without spending your own money on it, whether through membership or using tokens to win those challenges every season - extra tactic slots, extra and/or free TC's, training graphs (including for transfers), and of course the free money MZ gives you for those challenges. It's a pay to play game now and it's not really that subtle about it.

Having said that, I think you're right about the teams abusing or straight up cheating in Canada. I feel like any given season something like a third of the teams in the CSL and div 1 could be in that category - nothing that can be proven beyond a doubt, but tons of managers who just seem shady/do shady things.

So to answer your question. No, it is absolutely NOT worth your real life money. But if you're an idiot like me who just wants to finally win the CSL, then you spend real life money on it anyway to keep up and give yourself a chance to bask in the glory of defeating these internet-equivalent-of-doped-up managers!

it's free to PLAY...
it's just not so easy to win (big time) if you don't pay

and I don't find anything wrong about it...

You can't hide the youth potential on the transfer, only the training graphs. When a graph is hidden you assume that the player is maxed out, and that is a place for cheaters to get good players.

Selling players with their graph hidden rarely get the price up for him as managers assume the worst. And if the price get higher it is by only very little. No managers pay big bucks for a young player with a hidden graph.

As this means that the only real use for hidden graphs is cheating, I personally think that the graphs should automatically be visible on the transfer, just like the youth potential.

I disagree, sometimes you make a deal before you place a player on the transfer market. This is not cheating, just a gentlemen's agreement. The only way to prevent random bidders is by hiding the training graphs.

Also, I would assume some people don't want others to know HOW they train a player. This might be information you don't necessarily want to give, especially for older players that have a lot of maxings anyway.

I don't see a problem with random bidders. I think agreeing on a price below market value is unfair in some ways (to the seller and other fair playing managers who would want the player to an even higher price if they had the same info as the buyer had). Agreeing on a price and then making the graph visible is fine though.

You are implying that all people know what "market value" is.
It is pretty clear to me that most don't know this (myself included). We can see a lot of overpriced and underpriced players (a lot more of the former than the latter). Usually this is the result of people really wanting a specific player and don't want to wait for other opportunities. Hiding graphs prevents unnecessary bid-wars. I don't see it as unfair, when two parties agree on a price, then that is the player's market value. I think this would be especially relevant in countries that have a low player base. How do you build a team of mostly natives when foreign countries can just yoink all talents?

"Agreeing on a price and then making the graph visible is fine though."
Perfectly fine in fact, yet I don't think you should force this.

Are there really users out there that wouldn’t want a bidding war on one of their players? 😂

*If so please Guestbook me details of your best players you want to agree a below market price on

There’s no such thing as market price, only what a person is willing to pay is what he is worth at that moment.

You can see nearly exactly the same player sell for a few million difference in the space of a few days.

I had a winger for sale last week for 5 million and didn’t get a bid but sold him yesterday when I put the asking price up to 6.1million. That’s 1.1 million AUD difference in the space of a few days. It’s quite regular this thing happening too.

I can see an argument for all players to have open training graphs but I don’t think the game wants to get too far from it’s roots. You never used to be able to see players graphs at all and had to rely on asking managers for maxing’s in GB’s and hope they would respond. This did bring more sense of community the old way, although I do like it now.

In relation to this, what really gets my goat, is when people complain about players not being listed with training graphs, then proceed to list their own players without training graphs.............

It's really a facepalm moment, then you watch them trying and defend their action after the fact... Hilarious.....

For those of you who think cheaters get away with everything, and we admins do nothing about it -

It's absolutely false. Yes, some cases can take time, due to their complexity, but in most cases the cheater is heavily punished.

On a lighter note, if you still don't believe me, give it a try, and you'll see for yourself ;)

Right now there is a Canadian NT assistant that has added their own players to the NT and now they are selling those players.

They are clearly inferior to the rest of the NT.

Timmy McErracherid: 206782007 - Transfer Market.

Clear and obvious sign of cheating. Why would anyone bid well over the asking price for a below average player?

Yet this guy does this each season and is getting away with it after countless tickets raised with MZ Support.

I won't be putting a single penny in this game after being on it for well over 12 years, I've never seen the support system in sure a dire state its actually worrying to think how unresponsive they are when it comes to these issues now.

I mean regardless if your using a VPN or manipulating your IP seeing transfers like this are as clear as day when it comes to cheating yet they can't act on it to make the game fairer for us players who actually support and care about the game.

Insane.

Well someone’s acted on it as that player has been removed from the transfer market.

Re: Am I wasting money on this game?

Yeh hopefully they’ll be able to also rectify the 4 million he raked in off two players the season before which also went unpunished.

There is to much cheaters all over the game. I think Sweden have the most cheaters at the moment and in the history.

If you only knew the truth...

When my CM expires I wont renew it. I am not going to put a single krona anymore.
