2 questions to run by everyone:
1. When negotiating with coaches do some coaches prefer a shorter contract? The longer the contract the more preferable seems to be the norm but wondering if I’m missing a trick..
2. RE Training Field. My understanding was always that as long as your coach had more skill balls than the player he’s coaching it didn’t really matter how many more..? eg. Does a 10 ball Coach train a 5 ball player quicker than a 6 ball coach.
Cheers

1. I use shortest contract lengths so faster i can try to negotiate lowering coaches salary.
2. Higher the coaches skill, the more efficient he will be. Meaning 10 ball coach will always be more efficient than 5 baller coach.

Thanks, good intel - re: 1 could you be paying more though in initial salary to compensate the short contract? Also assuming you don’t take coaches with an up front fee using that approach?

I've read somewhere that a coach will ALWAYS improve a player, even if he has fewer balls in that skill that the player does. Not sure where I saw that, though; it's been too long

Yes, but the more balls the coaches have, the more the player will benefit from the training.

Is that not only true if the player has one ball less than the coach. Does having a bigger difference matter?

I only use 9 ball coaches, greatly increases the level of training

There has been a research once, in that research it was clear that a coach with 2 balls more has the same result as one with 3-4-5 balls more, 1 ball more has a greater effect but not as good as 2 balls more. Same or less has no sufficiant extra progress

Thank you so much for that. Do you know who it was that did that research or where I could find it? Cheers!

I usually take the longest contract.
I hadn't have problems to negotiate.

Based on what I remember, I believe it was designed like that and one of the updates 3 or 5 years ago, mentioned it. However, if you look through these forums back about 2014-15ish someone has done the research and checked it.
