Semi final of the Division Cup Season 67 - Northern Europe Div3-6 - the first cup I've probably ever been able to realstically win.

My star player got injured in Sunday's league game for 7 days, so not ideal. Had to rejig tactically, played some scout matches, thought I had it down.

Go 1-0 down, fine. Bring it back to 1-1. Last minute, they get a red, I get a penalty to win the match. My star striker (who probs shouldn't be taking pens but HE'S MY STAR STRIKER, I don't really have a great deal of set player players), yeah, my star striker misses.

Extra-time.

They score a golden goal in the 120th minute.

Shots to my opponent - 9 (8 on target)
Shots for me - 31 (22 on target)

Please try and help me to feel better before I destroy this laptop.

They probably have laptops in sale at Costco.

Since #brexit, I have noticed that the SIM is biased.

Brexit is one thing (I voted to remain ¯_(ツ)_/¯ weeeeey) but this just takes the biscuit. Sure our trade deals are going to be decimated, freedom of movement in Europe likely being stolen and taxes will probably go up, but I have this one little cup run in an imaginary football world on the internet played by a few thousand people AND IT WON'T EVEN LET ME HAVE THAT. WHY!?

DAMN YOU BREXIT.

I had few unwanted bad results lately. I know how you feel.

Welcome in sim world ! Happened to my plenty of times, worst I remember was the league match which was crucial to league standings, it was like 31-3 shots and score 0-1. Can't remember when was that. Won't mention the matches like 1-1 and 25-6 in shots.

To be fair the sim gave you way, way more opportunities than it should have, I did a few scout matches before and all results were wins with more chances. Also the goalkeeper paid off to buy just for this match.

Well, just rechecked the scout matches, the matches were 2 wins 1 draw, chances were roughly even/slightly towards my team but I guess it came down to my new GK and striker that I bought for this match + tomorrow's league match. Shame that you can't edit posts on forum.

At ongoing WC U21, Paraguay won their group with SOG count 16:54 across three matches. Their opponents? France, Norway and Sweden.

Hi mate!

Yeah I did a lot of scout matches, they were all pretty tight or swung your way until I made a few minor tweaks. After that I was making loads more chances and generally winning the games.

All about that keeper and striker though. Unbelievable signings in that case and to be honest, it does make me feel a bit better you going to those lengths to win! At least there's still a tactical element to it. That last minute pen though... Crushing :(

Good luck in the final and well played!

First bit of advice... scout matches are nearly useless. Unless you play 10 of them, there’s too much room for natural variation.

Wow how unlucky, I thought i was unlucky until I read this. It seems I'm not the only one. Here's what happened to me. A match which I was chasing the leader on points. His player just scored a corner goal and got awarded a penalty which was soft and scored it. The ball didn't even cross the line! The game ended 3-1 the other goal was genuine not gonna lie.
So disappointed with MZ.

I play since 2009, have some kwnoledge about this game, tried it many times, and have to admit that scout matches means absolutely nothing, don't take them seriously. You can win a scout match 6-0 and then draw or lose with the same tactics. Sim is a lottery, I tried many matches with friends, same tactic and the scores were all different, so you never know what can happen in a single Cup game.

All I can say is - less focus on matches - more focus on team management = Results that go against you, don't make you wanna smash your computer or throw it out of the window etc.

I've had many games like this over the years, forget it and move on. Some you win, some you lose. If you play long enough with a good team you'll eventually win a few comps, but you'll also lose more than you fair share against the run of play

I still think it has to do with #brexit.

I mean you voted against, but the sim is blind and it is so biased... what is going on... the Swedish guys are upon you

Thanks everyone. This has felt like a positive support group. And I'm only joking about the anger, I wasn't gonna smash the laptop. It's a work one. Don't fancy that. Probably bad enough I'm spending my day managing a team.

Maybe the Swedes are still a bit peeved about the World Cup too...

Maybe lower the toilet seat next time and you might get a more positive result! ;)
