Italy out of the World Cup in 2018 in Russia!

Noooooo not worse than the Brazil spanking. Italian football has been in decline since 2006. This was going to happen. Italy doesn't produce defenders like they used to. When you talk about the decline of the Italian football since 2006, do you mean the same Italian NT who was runner-up in Euro 2012 and was beaten on PK on 2008 (by the champions - Spain) and 2016 (by the current WC champions - Germany)? What happened with Italy was a disgrace, but I don't see a hard decline. You've got to be kidding me. Look at the Italy squad is a joke. Look at the defense they used to have the best defenders in history. Compare Cannavaro/Nesta with Chiellini who I like but no where near the level of Nesta or Cannavaro. Bonucci is terrible. Barzagli? Defense made them great. The attack is awful.

They did reach the final thanks to Pirlo, but you cant deny their decline look at Serie A. Used to be the best league in the world now its trash. Too many foreign players in the league I think its one of the reasons they're not producing enough talented players. And I agree they win as a team but now they have not much talent the team effort its not enough anymore.

They've regressed everywhere. The Italian teams of old all had a few special attacking players to go along with their defense. Their last world cup winning team had Del Piero and Inzaghi on the bench The biggest concern is the defense now that Buffon, Barzagli, and Chiellini retired. Bonucci isn't at all terrible, but the options after him kind of are I doubt they'll miss the next world cup but I can't see them winning it eitherThey've regressed everywhere.
