To broaden the appeal of this League beyond the xA's admin forum I'm creating this thread for the ultimate fighter version of all national team competitions.

After finishing in the bottom half of the first edition, the new look Aussie Legends have begun strongly to lead the league after 4 rounds. I'm not sure if our 10-0 victory over Argentina is a an abnormality, but it was a fair game from start to finish with no cards of any colour given, so good job boys.

Well done bud. Our tactic looks much stronger than last time, and the line-up looks great.

Yeah, I kept the best attacking qualities of last season and moved a wide mid into a sweeping position. Apart from that we still have 8 of last seasons starters on the pitch and the new faces in defense are performing much better as a unit. Paz already has 2 man of the match performances in goals.

Rowdon is an attacking midfield superstar, he loves getting forward from the wider midfield, setting up Rizzardo and supporting cast in great scoring positions with dead eye passing. With him on the pitch its like we have 4 strikers and Bo 'the general' Boylin has come to life with better players behind him, allowing him to make the center circle his own.

Amos Fazey has found his true calling as a defensive sweeper. Him and Kean have been colossal at protecting the defense, whose tackling percentages have risen greatly now they aren't being drawn out of position.

It's a good mix, Roger Miller the youngest at 38 and Zackery Forrest the senior at 60 with an average age of 47.

Brazil use a wing alternative switch during their games, so I'm interested to see how this 3 man defensive set up goes when we meet them. But most sides are running short passing so what we've got will perform well. Fingers cross we keep up the good form.

We lost our first game with a 41st minute straight red card to central defender and heart of the defensive Brian Beattie. It was a defensive grind from then on and we lost 6-2, the stats remained even, but the Netherlands man advantage gave them the edge in front of goal.

We took down Sweden in a good overall win, next up a revamped Italy side. I'll have to put together a 4 man defense for matches against Turkey and Brazil, but our stock formation is doing really well.

Italy revamped their lineup and the game was much closer, but we got over the line. Now it the Brazilians, in all honesty I think Brazil have the advantage, but not by much, it will fought tooth and nail to the wire. Let's hope for a clean game and no red cards.

We did it. Almir Lago and Co from Brazil were steadily overcome across the park for a well deserved 3-1 win. Next up it's Chile, while Brazil play Turkey.

In the next 3 rounds Brazil plays Turkey, we play Turkey and the Netherlands play Brazil. So we're in a good spot with our next big challenge being Turkey in Round 10 when the return fixtures begin. They are the only team playing wings for the full game, but the boys are playing so well I may not change anything and enter the game with our rock solid back 3.

We boosted our goal difference against Chile. Turkey beat Brazil despite losing the shot count and generally being outplayed across the field.

Let's see how our back three goes against their wing tactic, the Netherlands beat Turkey with a back 3, so we'll see.

With the tactics locked in for the leagues duration we couldn't handle a wing attack. so we split our games with turkey 1 win a piece, against everyone else we have an advantage, let's see if we can claw back this goal difference. For now we'll remain in second.

With 3 games left we're 5 points clear, yet we have to play both Italy and Brazil. I'm not sure what is going on with the recent results as Turkey have now lost 4 games in a row. Italy are the form team climbing the league rankings as every other top 5 side has struggled in the last 6 rounds, if we lose against both Brazil and Italy, the Italians are favourites to win the title. Unless bad form should strike them down for no known reason, as this league has been unpredictable. A side can win 10 nil and then lose corresponding return fixture with the same players, in the same positions on the field for both sides and no cards given in either match.

Let the chips fall where they may

Italy's form continues and we lose by 6 goals, not much you can do about that. We have to win both our remaining games against Brazil and Chile to take the title, otherwise it's been a good run but not quite good enough.

Results in the second last round have put us 4 points clear with a game to play. Italy's sparkling run of form was temporarily halted by Chile as they held them to a 3-3 draw, which was enough to give us the points to secure the title when we took down Brazil for the second time this season in a great game of football.

This game was it, we had to win to keep control of our own destiny and everyone contributed. Bo Boylin scored his first goal of the campaign from Central Midfield to become our 8th scorer for the season and by the end of the first half we had a 3-0 lead. Brandon Pickhills made it 4-0 in the 80th before Brazil scored 2 late goals. All our midfielders, starting strikers and their subs have now scored at least once.

Despite this result, the title looked set to be decided in the final round as despite a red card to Italy in the 52nd minute they appeared set to hold on for a 3-1 victory until 88th and 94th minute goals to Chile secured them a point and allowed us to secure the Clash of the Legends 2nd Edition with a 4 point lead and a game in hand.

It may not be an International tournament such as a World or Confed cup, but Australia has finally won another international trophy to add to the 2013 Confed Cup. Everyone except for Eliot Cuddihy played a role off the bench at some point of the season. Hopefully crew decide to keep this league going next season and a few more nations decide to join the ranks.

We've won the League by 6 points in the end, with a celebratory victory game to finish it off at home 6-1 against Chile to an amazing 50 spectators in Stadium Australia. With those amazing crowd numbers you wouldn't know we had just won an international trophy

To all those who have forgotten and contains many of the players being discussed as the greatest strikers of all time MZ

Consequently, for those who have forgotten I coached the Australian team to win this stellar battle of legendary teams

Sadly it was the last time the competition was run, so the Australian team are still reigning champions
