hi ,
last night i was in a crowded bar , which was under staffed, something happened in the cellar , and both of the bar persons had to attend the issue , suddenly both rooms started to fill with thirsty customers , and the mood started to sway, within a minute or two, i noticed the atmosphere turning toward a less civilised slant, peoples eyes were suddenly gaping wide, and there was suddenly no topical conversation , the girl next to me started to play with a vacant lager tap, switching it on and off, like a mischievous zoo creature, trying to tempt somebody toward holding a glass out to be filled, I suddenly put myself on gaurd , as i was certain that her thirst was about to overwhelm her, and she was about to swing towards me , and bite into my, bare , suntanned arm, and begin to feed from me, i was struck by the idea of suddenly becoming likeable by allowing myself to be suckled by my once bar standing rivals,
is anybody else having problems with greedy landlords understaffing at the bar..

This is why I drink at home. Plus it's a lot safer to stumble to the bedroom than into a car. Public transportation in my neck of the woods is terrible and basically unheard of after 10pm.

Yes, more annoyingly the 'gastro-pubs' which will now only pay attention to you if you are ordering food and will generally pay not attention to you at all if you are just standing there for a beer.

There are still a couple of cracking pubs around where I am though to be fair.

People continue to dismiss my self service lager vending machines as a poor idea.

Just for drinks of the pint variety; one pint per visit, works like a coffee machine (but the glass could be tilted - eh? There's serious thinking here) pretty much. Put your money in, select you drink, off you go.
