Best game/season player

How hard would be to create this option? It would be great that the simulator chooses according to the statistics of each game a best player, and also that at the end of the season every team has a best season player (also chosen by the sim). And of course that this should be public so we create more community and knowledge around the players of each country.

What do u think?

Its been suggested before
I always said that this should be the salt and pepper of a managerial game
Right now we have a league table and a top scorer sheet which is not enough
Season winner gets a cup and thats it
users should have more things to compete for
features like team/player of the week/season , manager of the month/season for each country, national cup, best youth of the season, most fairplay team, are very welcomed
More statistics and data to reflect on and work with, thats what we want

If they could do it right, I'd like it. Earliest management games I ever played gave a mark out of 10 for each player. I know some prefer the pure analysis, watching games and essentially determining for yourself how well a player is performing, and to them maybe it's a "dumbing down" to give marks out of 10... but still, I'd like it.

I'm thinking fundamental to all this would be a reliable elo rating system. Also that you don't have a team ranked higher just because they've entered more competitions.

Once you get that, then calculations for performance could, as they should be, be based on *difficulty of opposition*. If Player X scores a hattrick and gets 2 assists against a mid-table div4 side, it should count for less rating than if he does the same against a div1 side, for example.

Now this is a bit problematic, because div4-6 teams playing eachother, what rating should their players ever be able to achieve compared to divA-3 teams? (Taking A to represent Top League). Perhaps it should be 2 numers. The first based on the standards of whatever level they're playing at and the second (in brackets or a different colour) based on global standard. So someone playing in goal in div4 league match, against strong opposition, keeps a clean sheet having faced 15 shots, no fumbles, no fouls, etc, rates like 10/10 by div4 standard, BUT maybe like 4-5/10 by global standard. Playing in goal in top league, league match against strong opposition, giving the same performance, 10/10 by both standards. (Because basically giving that performance against higher level opposition has to count for more somewhere.) I'd suggest it all be rated by global standard but it'd surely piss people off in div4-8 to have their players turning in excellent stats only to get rated simply 4/10, 3/10, or suchlike :p

One issue I wonder with all this: Do Crew use the ranking boosts from entering extra competitions as an incentive to get people to enter them? I remember once I won a div3 league and the Division 3 Cup both in the same season, and for a month or so it caused me to be top-rated English manager! How stupid is that, really? If such a thing existed then, I would've probably won a couple of national Manager Of The Week awards, maybe even Of The Season! The rankings need to work before this sort of thing be considered.

Thinking about that situation, the manager/ranking points perhaps even need to be based on a few things. Perhaps time in the game, perhaps value of team when a particular achievement occurs, y'know? I can give you a timely example of what I mean...
I'm due to play the final of the div4-6 Cup soon (11th of April). I've been in this game years more than the guy I'm playing, I've got way more expensive players. It shouldn't count the same in ranking points for me to win as it would for him. Simply because of my players, no tactical skill or anything, I should walk it. On the other hand, if he wins it, that'd be fairly monumental. (Or the sim fucking up of course.) It *should* count a lot more, earn a lot more ranking points, for him to win than for me to win. In fact, given the time in the game element as well, so like I really shouldn't be down in div4-6 to even be playing in it, it should probably earn him more for being runner-up than me for winning! (If that's how it turns out.)

And finally stream-of-consciousness thought that brings up: We also need to trust the sim. They need to get it in trustworthy shape.

Which leads to the conclusion:
Before this could happen, they need to implement a much better ranking points system and to get the sim relatively sorted.

(Sorry I didn't write more.)

there is one feature atm called manager of the month... a useless one
I wouldnt go that far to create such a complex rating system for all competitions(even though it would be nice) I would rather focus on my league thats where I leave the biggest footprint
example for the manager of the month/fortnight we will take just a few things into account like the results, the form, maybe accounting as a hidden criteria dunno really the game is too simple atm to think of anything else

Difficult though, because if you keep it too simple, there's maybe not much prestige to it. (Still more than the current of course!) I mean if you keep it to just league and match results there in a given week, let's say Team A play the weakest 2 teams in the league, score 10 goals, conceded 0, get knocked out in the first round of a cup against a lower side. Team B play the strongest 2 teams in the league, score 8 goals, concede 2, get into the second round of the same cup by beating a higher side. Who gets Manager Of The Week in that league? Simplistically, it has to be Team A, because they scored more, conceded less, and we're not counting the cup results... But that doesn't seem right to me.

I can see people preferring that to the current stupid global random choice "Manager Of The Month" rubbish, but it still doesn't sound all that appealing to me.
