Ever heard of Let's Make a Soccer Team?

Ahem... hi guys, the purpose of this thread is twofold: see how many people know about this game, which I admit isn't the best manager game around but I feel is a lot better than many reviewers gave it credit for, and also a shameless plug for something I'm doing on another site.

First, the game itself. It's a PS2 title, published by Sega but doesn't have the depth of Sega's Football Manager franchise. Still, the manager game is deep enough to remain interesting for a while at least. The gimmick is that instead of becoming the manager of an existing team, you create your own from 'scratch' and be both manager and chairman. Unfortunately due to technical limitations you don't gain control of your team until it's on the verge of reaching the 2nd division but that's just the lower specs of the PS2 compared to PC's of 2006 at work.

The game as a manager feels a bit arcade-ish because it's actually fairly easy to sign good players who are for some reason free agents at the start of the game and use them to most likely rocket to the top of the 2nd division, but then again, the game won't make it easy to climb through the ranks of the 1st division so there's still a challenge to be had. Biggest negative is Alan Green on commentary: He's (CENSORED!). Other negatives include how long it takes for the game to give you all the options that are eventually available to you, and the graphics are a bit meh, but the training options available to you are fairly expansive, and the match engine usually churns out results that make sense instead of making you rip out your hair, so that's a big plus this game's got going for it.

Wow, look at me rant guys :P. Anyway, I have this text-based let's play going on at Neoseeker, it would be nice if more people came over and read it. Not forcing you, just a suggestion:

I liked that game on PS2 tbh lol.
True it took forever to get to the top league (im my case Serie A) and also sometimes building more stuff around your stadium didnt increase you're revenue?
Even though I was a "top" team then since I was champion for 2 years running.

But for the price I paid for it and then thinking how old the game is now, Id say it aint all bad :D
