Transfer silly season

Badge image
So transfer silly season is with us again, who will go where and for how much?

My guesses are....

Chelsea

Oscar for £25million
Hulk for £30million
Azquilitta for £10million
Cavani for £35million

As a bit of a left field one, Andy Carroll

Man United

Snidjer from Inter for £20million

Man City

Van Persie from Arsenal for £25million
Di Rossi from Roma for £20million

Not even close so far, however the transfer of the window for me Berbatov to Fulham. Works well with Martin Jol, will be a key player in the team and get around 15 League goals for them.

Berbatov to Fulham could be the best signing Fulham have made in years.

"Blackpool have failed to agree terms with free agent Emile Heskey." Perhaps they mooted an idea of him scoring occasionally.

Fans of on-pitch violence no doubt disappointed the lad Barton has headed off to France.

Feel a bit sorry for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, phenomenal goalscoring last season in Germany, but no big move manifested.

No-one yet fancies footing Michael Owen's medical bills.

Sad to see Van Der Vaart go, wonder what'll happen with Dawson seemingly stuck.

Very sad nothing happening with Owen Hargreaves :(

Liverpool odd decision with Carroll, seems a bit bloody-minded to have set it up with West Ham rather than Newcastle. Maybe Pardew's mistake in offering low transfer bids instead of trying for loan? Interesting they got Nuri Sahin though. Strong player back with Dortmund. Charlie Adam rightly moved on. Reckon he'll fit in well at Stoke though.

Don't think it's going to do Rodwell or Sinclair much good moving to Man City, can't see how Sinclair will get games when appearances for the far-more-talented Adam Johnson were so restricted. Good business by Martin O'Neil getting him, but he should be somewhere better.

Interested to see how Pablo Hernandez gets on at Swansea.

Overall, most of it's been underwhelming.

Yeah wasnt much of a final day really, was hoping for a couple more to sign for us but nothing happened with Dawson. Johnson and Fletcher will have to be enough, and Rose is actually good enough. Stoked to see the Jenas move die in the arse i will admit.

Good Business

Berbatov to Fulham - Great work by Jol to get him, would be interested to see how much he actually paid, i am guessing very little.

Spurs getting 10mil for Van der Vaart - Good money for a player who doesnt seem to be able to play 90minutes. Good players though, but 10 mil seems a little much comparatively.

Dempsey to Spurs - I hate how spurs alwasy snag great players for bugger all money, then sell their reserves for a fortune. Dempsey for 6mil is a bargain, even at 29 but it did kind of smack of a desperation move from Demspey wanting to move to a 'bigger' club. Kind of glad Liverpool didnt get him with thier lowballing bid, he clearly wanted to go there over anywhere else.

Charlie Adam to Stoke - 4mil is once again an utter bargain and once again Liverpool get desperate on deadline day to buy and sell, you would think the transfer window is only 24 hours with them, but if stoke get N'Zonzi aswell they will have shifted their midfield up a class.

Bad Business

Bendtner to Juve - Really? who the hell thought that was a good idea for a team unbeaten in the league last year? We need a striker, but he doesnt have to score goals, or be any good as he probably wont play, but it would be good if we could bring in an egomaniac who will tie us up with court dates and contraversy a lot.

Sinclair to Man City - Sinclair is one of those players who looks good in an average team like QPR, and will struggle at Man City. A Lot. If Adam Johnson cant get a game how will Sinclair? strange move when he could have had his pick of plenty of other premier league teams if he didnt want to be at QPR any more.

Jordan Rhodes to Blackburn - Has torn up every division he has played in with goals galore, had half of the premier league chasing him, so he decides to go to a club in turmoil and run by clowns so he star in shitty chicken ads and be ridiculed on a regular basis. A really strange move imo. His quote was "Blackburn are a premier league club in everything but position". If he wanted to join a premier league club, then he could have simply joined one. weird.

Overall i think spurs have done well as usual, but will find a way to destroy this good work on the pitch, Fulham and Stoke have done well too but West Ham for me are the clear winners for this window. They have signed a lot of serious talent and have improved their squad tremendously with players like Benayoun and Carroll (without 35mil of pressure) and Matt Jarvis for 7.5 was another good peice of business.

Bring on the season proper now. :)

Bad moves

Spurs selling Modric, Pavlechenko, Van der Vaart and replacing them with Dempsey, Sigurdson(the fella from Reading). They have basically become a long ball side overnight. Will be interesting to see AVB's next moves. Lloris is a good keeper and Dembele is good, but overal I think they are worse then before.

Liverpool, loaning out Carrol and having only Borini and Saurez as the strikers. Sahin and Allen are ok, but have a lot to prove.

Good moves,

West Ham, Carroll and Yossi are good signings on loan and should keep them up

Fulham, Berbatov gives them a new angle for all attacks, better player than Dempsey

Real Madrid, Essien on loan, Jose knows him and does not make a lot of mistakes.
