The supporters of U21 Russia booed when U21 Egypt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hisham Mustafa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Egypt's zone, Damir Lyakhovich stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samy El-hadary came out of the goal and Damir Lyakhovich tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Matvey Alferov kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Samy El-hadary. That made the score 1-0 in the 14 minute of play. With a little luck, U21 Egypt's Samy El-hadary got control of the ball when Mikhail Krivonogov tried to sneak it across the goal line. Damir Lyakhovich blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Samy El-hadary having to make a save. Damir Lyakhovich received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Samy El-hadary came out and tried to block the shot, but Damir Lyakhovich slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 21st minute. After some careless play in the U21 Egypt defense, Matvey Alferov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Samy El-hadary. The U21 Egypt fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Samy El-hadary should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, U21 Egypt's Ahmed Sameh got a free kick in the 30th minute. U21 Egypt's Samy El-hadary played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damir Lyakhovich in the 37th minute of play. 38 minutes into the game, Sergei Nekrasov recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Samy El-hadary. Sergei Nekrasov showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. Yuriy Shiryaev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ezz Amr in the 45th minute of the match. After 47 minutes, Sergey Mishin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Russia and the U21 Egypt players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 48 played minutes U21 Russia got a freekick which was hit by Sergey Mishin. A collision led to U21 Russia getting a freekick after 49 minutes play. Sergey Mishin hit a great ball. In the 50th minute, Shams Abu Trika got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The wind increased when Ezz Amr made the kick off in the second half. Denis Ledovskih kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. If Khaled Shehta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ezz Amr struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Yuriy Shiryaev didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Egypt. In the 62nd minute, Ameen Bahy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Samy El-hadary didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Felix Kovanov went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the U21 Egypt defense, Felix Kovanov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Samy El-hadary. The U21 Egypt fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Samy El-hadary should have stopped the shot. Samy El-hadary didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Filimon Maltsev went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. In the 87th match minute, U21 Egypt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ameen Bahy to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to U21 Egypt getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Hakeem Basel hit a great ball. Samy El-hadary took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Kovanov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Samy El-hadary showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matvey Alferov in the 97th minute of the match. A collision led to U21 Egypt getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Ezz Amr hit a great ball. 99 minutes into the game, Felix Kovanov cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 9-0. Samy El-hadary was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. U21 Russia's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
