The audience was convinced that Robert Hofer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anton Mischenko was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. 16 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Orest Sobko came free, but Wolf-Rüdiger Anschütz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But to his dismay, Orest Sobko quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Orest Sobko in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wolf-Rüdiger Anschütz saved Germany from getting behind. Through an outstanding action, after 44 minutes, Wolf-Rüdiger Anschütz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a rather tough play, Germany's Jonathan Vogel got a free kick in the 46th minute. Germany's Wolf-Rüdiger Anschütz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orest Sobko in the 46th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Demjan Sviderskyi was the one to do the kick off. After recieving a nice pass, Germany's Curt Nonnenbruch tried to score from far away in the 70th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 72 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Yarema Stoyko came free, but Wolf-Rüdiger Anschütz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
