The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Malcolm Adamson got the match started through his kick off. Luxembourg's Dan Cunningham managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Phillip Mothobi in the 5 minute of the game. Malcolm Adamson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 6th minute, Malcolm Adamson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Luxembourg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. A collision led to Luxembourg getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Max Godfrey hit a great ball. Luxembourg's Dan Cunningham managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Phillip Mothobi in the 19 minute of the game. Luxembourg's Trey Carlick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Terence Mandla in the 27th minute of play. The wind increased when Albert Phakathi made the kick off in the second half. Luxembourg's defense didn't have a chance, in the 55th minute, when Lindo Kanku scored to the left of an out of position Trey Carlick, making the score, 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Thabile Sewele during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Albert Phakathi in the 70thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Trey Carlick, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Boubacar Barry took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mattias Pilgrim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, South Africa's Trey Carlick threw himself towards the right post 73 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lindo Kanku, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The corner led Luxembourg's Malcolm Adamson to a score. 3-1 in the 89th minute. In the 95th match minute, Luxembourg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Malcolm Adamson to maneuver through the defense. Luxembourg's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
