Luxembourg's Oscar Jowsey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josue Molina in the 12th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, El Salvador's Josue Molina sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oscar Jowsey narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Luxembourg's Romário Eterović in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye El Salvador's goalie prevented a goal. After 25 minutes, Romário Eterović mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Luxembourg and the El Salvador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Oscar Jowsey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josue Molina in the 29th minute of play. In the 31st minute Richard Ayala shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Jowsey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Richard Ayala in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oscar Jowsey saved Luxembourg from getting behind. In the 37th minute of the match, Malcolm Adamson got a very nice opportunity to score, but Diego Barraza was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Luxembourg's Oscar Jowsey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josue Molina in the 39th minute of play. With a little luck, El Salvador's Diego Barraza got control of the ball when Malcolm Adamson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Oscar Jowsey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josue Molina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oscar Jowsey stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Josue Molina's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Josue Molina made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Josue Molina in the 51st minute of play forced Luxembourg's goalkeeper Oscar Jowsey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Shawn Hurtado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Oscar Jowsey having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Shawn Hurtado got free with Oscar Jowsey in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Oscar Jowsey didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Josue Molina went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Richard Ayala recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Josue Molina might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oscar Jowsey. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Josue Molina ran back to his position shaking his head. Oscar Jowsey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Ayala, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oscar Jowsey stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Richard Ayala's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Richard Ayala got free with Oscar Jowsey in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Oscar Jowsey, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Richard Ayala succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-4 in the 84th playminute. Oscar Jowsey made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Richard Ayala sent off a good shot on target. Richard Ayala received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Oscar Jowsey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. El Salvador had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
