Gonzales Maza made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 14th minute, Paul Laime got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 17 minutes into the match, Paul Laime had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gonzales Maza. U21 Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paul Laime was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Gonzales Maza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paul Laime in the 22nd minute. Thanks to some nice moves Paul Laime could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Gonzales Maza however easily saved by the left post. Ramond Quiroga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Bodelon in the 29th minute of the match. In the 31st minute, Kauldi Recasens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, U21 Ecuador's Evelio Calles got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 38th minute U21 Peru were awarded a corner. Nevada Graci went to the cornerflag to take it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Umea Munaya got free with Gonzales Maza in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 43 minutes, Melchazadec Come mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Peru and the U21 Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Melchazadec Come hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. 45 minutes into the match, U21 Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Norberto Martin came free, but Ramond Quiroga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eduardo Bodelon to make the kick off. A collision led to U21 Peru getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Umea Munaya hit a great ball. The supporters of U21 Peru booed when U21 Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Villegas Lainez didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Aguinaga Herce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gonzales Maza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Quintan Corral, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. The audience was convinced that Umea Munaya's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gonzales Maza was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. In the 73rd minute Quintan Corral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonzales Maza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74th match minute, U21 Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nevada Graci to maneuver through the defense. U21 Peru made a substitution. Feliu Cosmen replaced Paul Laime. U21 Ecuador's Armando Barrera was substituted for Maximiliano Alvarado. U21 Peru's Franz Ferdinand was substituted for Melchazadec Come. Nevada Graci hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. After 81 minutes, Umea Munaya made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. U21 Ecuador's Gonzales Maza tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. U21 Peru's Umea Munaya got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Quintan Corral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
