3 minutes into the game, U21 Austria's Bernabel Lugebiel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Andrej Žampach made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 14thth minute of the game Bernabel Lugebiel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Czech Republic's Andrej Žampach was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, U21 Austria's Bernabel Lugebiel got a free kick in the 19th minute. U21 Austria's Lasse Scherz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Austria from getting a goal against them. Andrej Žampach showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernabel Lugebiel, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Wayne Kanelakis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrej Žampach having to interfere. Petr Seibert kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Andrej Žampach showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernabel Lugebiel in the 35th minute of the match. 36 minutes into the game, Dominik Borke was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Austria's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Czech Republic the free kick. In the 36th minute, Dominik Borke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, U21 Austria's Bernabel Lugebiel got a free kick in the 39th minute. U21 Austria's Bernabel Lugebiel got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. U21 Czech Republic's Andrej Žampach played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernabel Lugebiel in the 43rd minute of play. In the 44th minute, Bernabel Lugebiel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Austria fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Karel Bruckner to strike the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, U21 Austria's Andrej Žampach threw himself towards the right post 51 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bernabel Lugebiel, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Wayne Kanelakis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrej Žampach having to interfere. 69 minutes into the game, Petr Šobáň was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Czech Republic's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Austria the free kick. In the 68th minute, one of U21 Czech Republic:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for U21 Czech Republic. A collision led to U21 Austria getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Oliver Schriebl hit a great ball. If Karel Bruckner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Wayne Kanelakis came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the U21 Austria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wayne Kanelakis couldn't finish the play. If Bernabel Lugebiel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 97 minutes into the game, Waldemar Bansemir was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Austria's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Czech Republic the free kick. The supporters of U21 Czech Republic booed when U21 Austria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waldemar Bansemir didn't get a good kick on the ball. The U21 Austria players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
