Cristian Villanueva was left in no man's land by his defense there! 11 minutes into the match, Samaniego Riesgo notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of El Salvador's Cristian Villanueva. Cristian Villanueva was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 18 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Samaniego Riesgo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cristian Villanueva narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, Christopher López notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of El Salvador's Cristian Villanueva. Cristian Villanueva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Samaniego Riesgo's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. In the 33rdth minute of the game Richard Ayala who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Adrian Bone was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 35 minutes into the game, Christopher López cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Cristian Villanueva was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cristian Villanueva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samaniego Riesgo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Villanueva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samaniego Riesgo in the 41st minute of play. Samaniego Riesgo scored 0-5 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristian Villanueva, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cristian Villanueva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bagui Maleta, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After 47 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Rambo Santamaria. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Christopher López made a kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Samaniego Riesgo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samaniego Riesgo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 59th minute, Richard Ayala got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, El Salvador's Cristian Villanueva got control of the ball when Bagui Maleta tried to sneak it across the goal line. With his leg Cristian Villanueva managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when Ecuador's Christopher López fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Ecuador booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard Ayala didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador made a substitution. Perlaza Chirivoga replaced Juan-Pablo Guerrero. After 67 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Richard Ayala. El Salvador's Cristian Villanueva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save El Salvador from getting a goal against them. In the 73rd minute, Gutierrez Minayo made a precise shot to the right of Cristian Villanueva. El Salvador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. With a little luck, El Salvador's Cristian Villanueva got control of the ball when Christopher López tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cristian Villanueva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gutierrez Minayo, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 85th minute, Christopher López left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. El Salvador's Cristian Villanueva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gutierrez Minayo in the 90th minute of play. In the 93rd minute Josue Molina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrian Bone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christopher López could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Cristian Villanueva made a huge save.
