U21 Switzerland's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Austria the free kick. In the 13th minute Stefan Greil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xaver Oberhauser saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee showed Fritz De Cat the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 23rd minute, Jerrick Zellweger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
