Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Habib Ali Drogba made the kick off and thus started the match. Boubacar Barry showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darweesh Al Qatam in the 3rd minute of the match. Bahaa Dashti's late challenge caught a U21 South Africa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bahaa Dashti helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of U21 South Africa booed when U21 Kuwait was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bahaa Dashti didn't get a good kick on the ball. U21 South Africa's Boubacar Barry proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save U21 South Africa from getting a goal against them. In the 13th minute Bassam Al Mofede shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boubacar Barry saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Boubacar Barry showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bassam Al Mofede in the 15th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, Nazeer Mkhwanazi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ali Al Barrak. U21 Kuwait's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nazeer Mkhwanazi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bassam Al Mofede got free with Boubacar Barry in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Boubacar Barry made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bassam Al Mofede in the 22nd minute of play. U21 South Africa's Boubacar Barry played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Qais Al Qattamy in the 27th minute of play. U21 Kuwait's Bassam Al Mofede got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Harry Mokatimi took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ali Al Barrak. Ali Al Barrak dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bassam Al Mofede stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of U21 Kuwait booed when U21 South Africa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. C.J. Boka didn't get a good kick on the ball. Boubacar Barry came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Kuwait's Bassam Al Mofede. But to his dismay, Bassam Al Mofede quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. A collision led to U21 Kuwait getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Darweesh Al Qatam hit a great ball. After 56 played minutes U21 Kuwait got a freekick which was hit by Darweesh Al Qatam. Ali Al Barrak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Habib Ali Drogba in the 57th minute of play. The supporters of U21 Kuwait booed when U21 South Africa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nazeer Mkhwanazi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Qais Al Qattamy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boubacar Barry having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Kuwait's zone, Habib Ali Drogba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ali Al Barrak came out of the goal and Habib Ali Drogba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. U21 South Africa's Albert Phakathi was substituted for Nazeer Mkhwanazi. Ali Al Barrak made an important save on a dangerous shot by Harry Mokatimi in the 87th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Harry Mokatimi kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ali Al Barrak. That made the score 1-5 in the 90 minute of play.
