Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Verner Knížek took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute Enzo Dossena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vavřinec Šeděnka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Enzo Dossena's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vavřinec Šeděnka was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Enzo Dossena kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Mario Gomis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Verner Knížek in the 11th minute of the match. In the 12th minute of the match U21 Czech Republic got a corner. U21 Italy's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rudolf Skácel ran over to the corner to take the kick. Mario Gomis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Verner Knížek in the 16th minute of the match. Mario Gomis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lubomír Hůlka, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After 21st play minutes Lubomír Hůlka shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Mario Gomis and just under the crossbar into goal. After 26 minutes of play, U21 Czech Republic's Miloš Absolon made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mario Gomis was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vavřinec Šeděnka had great luck who in the 29thth minute grab hold of the ball when Enzo Dossena from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. In the 30th minute of the match U21 Italy got a corner. U21 Czech Republic's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alessandro Bianchi ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 33rd minute of the match, Enzo Dossena tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Vavřinec Šeděnka saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Lubomír Hůlka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 36 minutes, Ercole Donadoni mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Italy and the U21 Czech Republic players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ercole Donadoni kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. In the 38th minute Enzo Dossena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vavřinec Šeděnka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ennio Pantano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Christian Shaarawy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tomáš Čermák made in the 53rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Lubomír Hůlka however managed to control. When U21 Italy's Ennio Pantano in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Czech Republic's goalie prevented a goal. After 56 minutes, Christian Shaarawy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Italy and the U21 Czech Republic players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 56th minute, Christian Shaarawy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Christian Shaarawy came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the U21 Italy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christian Shaarawy couldn't finish the play. U21 Czech Republic's Jan Jan was substituted for Miloš Absolon. In the 63rd minute, Rudolf Skácel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 66th minute, Christian Shaarawy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vavřinec Šeděnka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Shaarawy in the 68th minute of play. Mario Gomis made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Lubomír Hůlka sent off a good shot on target. After 75 minutes, Rudolf Skácel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Czech Republic and the U21 Italy players grew even worse after the yellow card. U21 Czech Republic's Jakub Podzemský was substituted for Josef Oliva. A collision led to U21 Czech Republic getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Rudolf Skácel hit a great ball. Christian Shaarawy struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Vavřinec Šeděnka didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Italy. Vavřinec Šeděnka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Shaarawy in the 81st minute of the match. 82 minutes into the game, Christian Shaarawy cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Vavřinec Šeděnka was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lubomír Hůlka in the 92nd minute of play forced U21 Italy's goalkeeper Mario Gomis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 98 minutes into the match, Verner Knížek dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mario Gomis, 2-4. When the final whistle sounded U21 Czech Republic left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than U21 Italy.
