An unexpectedly hard shot by Roman Kohut in the 4th minute of play forced U21 Austria's goalkeeper Ralf Beckers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Květoslav Kališ got free with Ralf Beckers in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ralf Beckers was a little too slow when Květoslav Kališ got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 10th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 13th minute, Roman Kohut left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Czech Republic fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. The audience was convinced that Roman Kohut's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ralf Beckers was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. In the 21st minute, Tom Schopp ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vladan Krupa was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. U21 Czech Republic's Vladan Krupa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dustin Mudra in the 25th minute of play. Ota Trunda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralf Beckers having to interfere. A collision led to U21 Austria getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Henning Kremer hit a great ball. Roman Kohut recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 34 minutes into the match, U21 Czech Republic's goal looked a bit too open when Dustin Mudra came free, but Vladan Krupa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to U21 Czech Republic getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Ota Trunda hit a great ball. U21 Austria's Ralf Beckers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roman Kohut in the 42nd minute of play. Vladan Krupa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dustin Mudra went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score.

The wind increased when Tom Schopp made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, U21 Austria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henning Kremer to maneuver through the defense. 59 minutes into the match, U21 Austria's Heli Moser sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vladan Krupa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The U21 Czech Republic fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when U21 Czech Republic's Vlastimil Lysák looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. U21 Czech Republic made a substitution. In the 90th minute of the match, Heli Moser got a very nice opportunity to score, but Vladan Krupa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Henning Kremer kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Otto Lue hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
