In the 27th minute, Robert Collen made a precise shot to the right of Dyllen Van der Roost. U21 Belgium's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After 37 minutes of play, U21 Netherlands's Robert Collen made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dyllen Van der Roost was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Bart-Jan Van der Poorten got free with Dennis Beerthuis in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ferry Hebels kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After 43 minutes, Ted Fokkelman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Netherlands and the U21 Belgium players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of U21 Belgium booed when U21 Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ted Fokkelman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dyllen Van der Roost showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roelof Molenaar, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Robert Collen to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute of the match, Klaas Jan Mol got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dyllen Van der Roost was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Klaas Jan Mol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th minute, U21 Netherlands's Klaas Jan Mol dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-8. Dyllen Van der Roost made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Roelof Molenaar sent off a good shot on target. Klaas Jan Mol received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dyllen Van der Roost came out and tried to block the shot, but Klaas Jan Mol slotted it home off the left post making it 0-9 in the 76th minute. Roelof Molenaar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Dyllen Van der Roost made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as U21 Netherlands's Klaas Jan Mol slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dyllen Van der Roost. That made the score 0-12 after 89 minutes of play. In the 93rd minute of the match, Roelof Molenaar got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dyllen Van der Roost was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 94th minute, Roelof Molenaar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dyllen Van der Roost was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-13. U21 Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
