The Moldova fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Hoàng Tran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandu Vasiliu in the 12th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Vietnam's Đỗ Dung got a free kick in the 13th minute. Moldova were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after Vietnam's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marius Cerbu took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Daniel Perju managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 0-2 became the score in the 23rd minute when Sandu Vasiliu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Hoàng Tran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grisha Mbappè in the 30th minute of the match. Hoàng Phong kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grisha Mbappè in the 33rd minute of play forced Vietnam's goalkeeper Hoàng Tran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vietnam's Hoàng Tran proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Vietnam from getting a goal against them. Nguyễn Mai charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Mai the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A nice corner shot did that Marius Cerbu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Hoàng Tran quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 89 minutes into the match, Vietnam's goal looked a bit too open when Leonid Afteni came free, but Hoàng Tran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sandu Vasiliu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hoàng Tran having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexei Stratulat got free with Hoàng Tran in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Moldova's Sandu Vasiliu got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
