Gilmar de Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Nunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Mattinha's Vágner Koehler suffered a sprained foot after 23 minutes and couldn't finish the game. A collision led to Osório FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Geovanni Velasco hit a great ball. Igor Nunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Igor Nunes was the one to do the kick off. After 52 minutes, Igor Nunes made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Osório FC's Gilmar de Amaral tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Douglas Mota during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 59 minutes into the match, Mattinha's Igor Nunes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilmar de Amaral narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Gabriel Luz came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Mattinha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabriel Luz couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Osório FC defense, Igor Nunes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gilmar de Amaral. The Osório FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gilmar de Amaral should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Mattinha's Igor Nunes got a free kick in the 68th minute. Igor Nunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mattinha's Igor Nunes got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Osvaldo Peixoto fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Osório FC's protests and gave Osvaldo Peixoto a yellow card for diving instead. In the 79th minute, Osvaldo Peixoto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Igor Nunes in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilmar de Amaral saved Osório FC from getting behind. Igor Nunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Cafu Tepedino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Osório FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cafu Tepedino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gabriel Freire breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mattinha walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
