The crowd rose to their feet as Manuel Cardozo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hermínio Machado. That made the score 1-2 in the 30 minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Gaviaozinho FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gugu Mendonça came free, but Juan Sanches reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chiquinho Seco in the 36th minute of play forced Carbonita's goalkeeper Hermínio Machado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gaviaozinho FC reached it. Gaviaozinho FC's Manuel Cardozo suffered a sore thigh after 45 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
