Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gil Prata hit a great ball. Fabrício Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raphael Negri in the 15th minute of the match. Fabrício Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Fernando Motta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Hortêncio Catarinense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, Ibuaco's goal looked a bit too open when Gil Prata came free, but Juninho Tróia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hortêncio Catarinense struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Juninho Tróia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Basu EC. Fabrício Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Fernando Motta in the 31st minute of play. Fabrício Barros came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ibuaco's Marcelo Lucas. But to his dismay, Marcelo Lucas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Basu EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilson Messias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juninho Tróia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Amadeu Dante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Juninho Tróia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 73rd match minute, Ibuaco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agostinho Quadros to maneuver through the defense. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Juninho Tróia showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Ibuaco defense, Hortêncio Catarinense kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juninho Tróia. The Ibuaco fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juninho Tróia should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Carlos Fernando Motta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ibuaco's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Fernando Motta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. With a little luck, Basu EC's Fabrício Barros got control of the ball when Raphael Negri tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ademar Rossi got free with Fabrício Barros in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Ibuaco players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
