Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luciano Arnalt in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hernan Hegoi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hernan Hegoi didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Carcnaval's Mariano Loreto shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Glorioso Newell´s's Hernan Hegoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luciano Arnalt in the 15th minute of play. After 15 played minutes Glorioso Newell´s got a freekick which was hit by Abel Raymond. After 18 played minutes Carcnaval got a freekick which was hit by Erasmo Precioso. The supporters of Glorioso Newell´s booed when Carcnaval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basilio Ovando didn't get a good kick on the ball. Glorioso Newell´s's Hernan Hegoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Loreto in the 29th minute of play. Mariano Loreto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernan Hegoi having to interfere. If Mariano Loreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 33 played minutes Carcnaval got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Loreto. Hernan Hegoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Loreto in the 36th minute of play. Hernan Hegoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Koldo, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After 43 played minutes Glorioso Newell´s got a freekick which was hit by Virgilio Gorosti. After 44 played minutes, Carcnaval's Anacleto Gilen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hernan Hegoi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Carcnaval reached it. Hernan Hegoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Loreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The supporters of Glorioso Newell´s booed when Carcnaval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erasmo Precioso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Severo Tabb showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severiano Sesuldo, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Luciano Arnalt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Hernan Hegoi made a huge save. Hernan Hegoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Loreto in the 69th minute of play. Herminio Bidun hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mariano Loreto in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hernan Hegoi saved Glorioso Newell´s from getting behind. In the 73rd match minute, Glorioso Newell´s was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herminio Bidun to maneuver through the defense. Hernan Hegoi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luciano Arnalt in the 76th minute. Severo Tabb came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Glorioso Newell´s's Severiano Sesuldo. But to his dismay, Severiano Sesuldo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Severo Tabb showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herminio Bidun, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Conrado Tulio made in the 84th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Glorioso Newell´s's Herminio Bidun. Hernan Hegoi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luciano Arnalt in the 88th minute. The Glorioso Newell´s support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
