Angelo Cordarell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after Chañares FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rogelio Cordarius took the corner. If Humberto Guillelmus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba booed when Chañares FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elpidio Karmel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba's Rogelio Cordarius couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 24th minute. Teodoro Ixidor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Cordarell having to interfere. Humberto Guillelmus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aquiles Salamon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Diego Orlondon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Angelo Cordarell made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Baldomero Bieito sent off a good shot on target. If Jonas Gregory had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Aquiles Salamon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Diego Orlondon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Guillelmus in the 59th minute of play forced Chañares FC's goalkeeper Angelo Cordarell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute, Victor Artaldo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 62 minutes in the game Elpidio Karmel after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Diego Orlondon. A very good opportunity. Baldomero Bieito struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Angelo Cordarell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba. In the 67th minute Enzo Reyes suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Jonas Gregory sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 72 minutes, Baldomero Bieito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baldomero Bieito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Baldomero Bieito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teodoro Ixidor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 85 minutes into the game, Chañares FC's Aquiles Salamon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Diego Orlondon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 91st minute, Eustaquio Ospetsu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 93rd minute, Baldomero Bieito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Baldomero Bieito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Chañares FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
