The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Simon Oinaz made in the 4th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Niupi FC's Armando Urbasa. Fernando Firme charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fernando Firme the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Club 57's Claudio Firme quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpected shot in the 20th minute by Miguel Romelio got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of Club 57 booed when Niupi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aquiles Giraldo didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Aquiles Giraldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dante Guib hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Aquiles Giraldo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alfredo Remir read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. In the 41st match minute, Niupi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauricio Ekaitz to maneuver through the defense. Aquiles Giraldo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 44thth minute tested the skills of Alfredo Remir when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Armando Urbasa in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alfredo Remir saved Club 57 from getting behind. Aquiles Giraldo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Alfredo Remir tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th match minute, Club 57 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Casimiro Quiroga to maneuver through the defense. In the 65th minute of the match Mauricio Ekaitz shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alfredo Remir showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Aquiles Giraldo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Armando Urbasa in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredo Remir prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dante Guib during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 71 minutes into the match, Niupi FC's Aquiles Giraldo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alfredo Remir narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 74th minute Aquiles Giraldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Remir saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 76thth minute of the game Clodoveo Delfino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club 57's Alfredo Remir was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alfredo Remir was left in no man's land by his defense there! There was no doubt that Niupi FC were the better team. Niupi FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
