In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Epuyén's goalkeeper Pastor Estavan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 20 played minutes Epuyén got a freekick which was hit by Venancio Olayo. Esmeralda's Juan Suarez got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Pastor Estavan successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 30 minutes into the match, Ismael Tartalo notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Epuyén's Pastor Estavan. Pastor Estavan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 33rd minute, Epuyén's Fidel Salvadore seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Fidel Salvadore the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Epuyén protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Fidel Salvadore had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Epuyén fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 32nd minute. Penalty! Pastor Estavan had in the 35thth minute some difficulties stopping Prospero Markel's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Juan Suarez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pastor Estavan. Epuyén's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Juan Suarez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 43rd minute, Ismael Tartalo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Pastor Estavan. The goal made the score 3-0. The supporters of Epuyén booed when Esmeralda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Tartalo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 47th minute, Ismael Tartalo fired away a free kick at the goal, but hit it at the wrong angle and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ismael Tartalo was the one to do the kick off. Juan Suarez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st minute Ismael Tartalo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pastor Estavan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the game, Rene Chano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Epuyén's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Esmeralda the free kick. After 63 played minutes Epuyén got a freekick which was hit by Rene Chano. Cleto Piarres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 73 minutes into the game, Fausto Paskal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Esmeralda's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Epuyén the free kick. In the 73rd match minute, Esmeralda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Paskal to maneuver through the defense. If Cleto Piarres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Epuyén's Rene Chano got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ismael Tartalo struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Pastor Estavan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esmeralda. Pastor Estavan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ismael Tartalo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Esmeralda's Gaudencio Ugutz got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Juan Suarez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Epuyén's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
