Spectators: 8404 (Terracing: 6303, Seating: 1933, VIP seats: 168) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Marlon Higginson made the kick off which started today's match. Reuben Reid made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marlon Higginson in the 8th minute. Reuben Reid showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marlon Higginson in the 9th minute of the match. When Marlon Higginson came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the SEA THE STARS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marlon Higginson couldn't finish the play. After 13 played minutes Beckford got a freekick which was hit by Ashley Hopker. Marlon Higginson kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Alfred Clough made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ryan Barnfield in the 21st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marlon Higginson got free with Reuben Reid in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 30 minutes into the match, Rodney Carsley dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Reuben Reid, 1-0. In the 33rd minute, Chaz Linkletter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Beckford booed when SEA THE STARS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodney Carsley didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 37 minutes, Owen Duff managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Beckford's supporters crossed their fingers, but Owen Duff was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the SEA THE STARS defense, Ryan Barnfield kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alfred Clough. The SEA THE STARS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alfred Clough should have stopped the shot. 45 minutes into the match, Beckford's goalkeeper Reuben Reid had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marlon Higginson. After 46 minutes, Howard Carpenter mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SEA THE STARS and the Beckford players grew even worse after the yellow card. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Owen Duff to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes SEA THE STARS got a freekick which was hit by Eddie Power. The audience was convinced that Owen Duff's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfred Clough was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Chaz Linkletter kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Reuben Reid came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by SEA THE STARS's Marlon Higginson. But to his dismay, Marlon Higginson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Alfred Clough didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Owen Duff went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. A collision led to Beckford getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Phil Wallbank hit a great ball. Owen Duff who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 82ndth minute tested the skills of Alfred Clough when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 89 played minutes, Beckford's Ryan Barnfield shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alfred Clough came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Beckford reached it. The nice shot from Owen Duff in the 90thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Alfred Clough had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Alfred Clough came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Beckford's Chaz Linkletter. But to his dismay, Chaz Linkletter quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-3. Beckford's Reuben Reid played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Howard Carpenter in the 96th minute of play. Beckford's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
