Bengt Åström had in the 27thth minute some difficulties stopping Leonardo Melberg's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonardo Melberg in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bengt Åström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Leonardo Melberg sped through Flen FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bengt Åström. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonardo Melberg in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bengt Åström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Leonardo Melberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Bengt Åström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 38 minutes, Börje Lindsten managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leeds United FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Börje Lindsten was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Melberg in the 43rd minute of play forced Flen FC's goalkeeper Bengt Åström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wictor Ahlbom kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wictor Ahlbom stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Börje Lindsten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Bengt Åström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Flen FC's Kent Löfkvist got a free kick in the 53rd minute. 56 minutes into the game, Leonardo Melberg lined in a short shot 0-7 behind a frustrated Bengt Åström. Bengt Åström made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Leonardo Melberg sent off a good shot on target. 0-8 became the score in the 63rd minute when Börje Lindsten elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Marc Öfverman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leeds United FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marc Öfverman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bengt Åström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Leeds United FC's Marc Öfverman slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bengt Åström. That made the score 0-9 after 72 minutes of play. With his leg Bengt Åström managed to avoid a goal in the 80thth minute, when Leeds United FC's Leonardo Melberg fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 82 minutes into the match Leonardo Melberg climbed in front of goal and pressed up 0-10 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Bengt Åström. In the 87th match minute, Flen FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hampus Sandwall to maneuver through the defense. 90 minutes into the match, Flen FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marc Öfverman came free, but Bengt Åström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Börje Lindsten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Bengt Åström made a huge save. Marc Öfverman received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bengt Åström came out and tried to block the shot, but Marc Öfverman slotted it home off the left post making it 0-11 in the 95th minute. Leeds United FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
