In the 14th minute Lyrestad were awarded a corner. Harry Ek went to the cornerflag to take it. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Lyrestad's Jens-Ove Botvidsson in the 16th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Nils-Erik Aleberg was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Surahammars IF through an amazing save. The crowd rose to their feet as Lyrestad's Harry Ek slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nils-Erik Aleberg. That made the score 1-0 after 18 minutes of play. In the 23rd minute Sven-Oskar Malmberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fredric Runeberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sven-Oskar Malmberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fredric Runeberg having to interfere. Albert Skröder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Fredric Runeberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Albert Skröder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fredric Runeberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Oskar Malmberg in the 36th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Oskar Malmberg in the 38th minute of play forced Lyrestad's goalkeeper Fredric Runeberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walter Josefsson kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. With his leg Nils-Erik Aleberg managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when Lyrestad's Harry Ek fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Harry Ek got free with Nils-Erik Aleberg in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

With a little luck, Lyrestad's Fredric Runeberg got control of the ball when Albert Skröder tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nils-Erik Aleberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harry Ek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jörgen Morat hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Sven-Oskar Malmberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fredric Runeberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sven-Oskar Malmberg in the 62nd minute. Paul Collin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Fredric Runeberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Albert Skröder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fredric Runeberg having to interfere. If Sven-Oskar Malmberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nils-Erik Aleberg came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Lyrestad's Sven-Erik Dahlberg. But to his dismay, Sven-Erik Dahlberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. 74 minutes into the match, Lyrestad's goalkeeper Fredric Runeberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sven-Oskar Malmberg. After 75 played minutes Surahammars IF got a freekick which was hit by Mathias Hedström. The audience was convinced that Harry Ek's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nils-Erik Aleberg was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Nils-Erik Aleberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harry Ek in the 78th minute of the match. In the 80th minute, Axel Björnsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 82 minutes into the match, Surahammars IF's Sven-Oskar Malmberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fredric Runeberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 83 minutes, August Skager mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Surahammars IF and the Lyrestad players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee gave Lyrestad a penalty, 84 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Harry Ek, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Surahammars IF's Nils-Erik Aleberg. 3-0. Fredric Runeberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sven-Oskar Malmberg in the 88th minute. Albert Skröder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fredric Runeberg having to interfere. Walter Josefsson kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. When Paul Collin fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Surahammars IF's protests and gave Paul Collin a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Surahammars IF's Paul Collin got a free kick in the 96th minute. In the 97thth minute of the game Sven-Erik Dahlberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Surahammars IF's Nils-Erik Aleberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jens-Ove Botvidsson in the 98th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nils-Erik Aleberg saved Surahammars IF from getting behind.
