Fredric Runeberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Albert Skröder's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jens-Ove Botvidsson in the 13th minute of play forced Surahammars IF's goalkeeper Nils-Erik Aleberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee gave Lyrestad a penalty, 15 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Harry Ek, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Surahammars IF's Nils-Erik Aleberg. 0-1. 18 minutes into the match, Lyrestad's goalkeeper Fredric Runeberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sven-Oskar Malmberg. Uno Ennegren's late challenge caught a Lyrestad's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Uno Ennegren helped the player get up and apologised. Uno Ennegren kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Jens-Ove Botvidsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nils-Erik Aleberg having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Harry Ek made a precise shot to the right of Nils-Erik Aleberg. Surahammars IF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. If Sven-Oskar Malmberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adam Tolsson kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. After 39 played minutes, Lyrestad's Harry Ek shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nils-Erik Aleberg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lyrestad reached it. Lyrestad's Fredric Runeberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albert Skröder in the 43rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Surahammars IF defense, Sven-Erik Dahlberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nils-Erik Aleberg. The Surahammars IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nils-Erik Aleberg should have stopped the shot. The Surahammars IF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Lyrestad were winning 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Albert Skröder was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Mathias Hedström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fredric Runeberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lyrestad's Harry Ek got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 91 minutes into the match, Surahammars IF's goalkeeper Nils-Erik Aleberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Harry Ek. The crowd rose to their feet as Lyrestad's Jens-Ove Botvidsson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nils-Erik Aleberg. That made the score 0-5 after 92 minutes of play. Lyrestad's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
