Ivar Opland came out of the goal and Marcu Hrebenciuc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Vebjørn Bjørnstad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 5th minute of the game, Jarl Ludviksen landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Bjarne Falck hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Vebjørn Bjørnstad might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ivar Opland. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vebjørn Bjørnstad ran back to his position shaking his head. Are Sviland kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the match, Maria Mena's goal looked a bit too open when Bjarne Falck came free, but Egil Hagen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yngve Tønder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Ivar Opland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ivar Opland stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcu Hrebenciuc's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Marcu Hrebenciuc struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Ivar Opland didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maria Mena. David Fiskerstrand in the 25thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ivar Opland, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 25 minutes into the game, David Fiskerstrand lined in a short shot 1-1 behind a frustrated Ivar Opland. Knut Ødegården charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Knut Ødegården the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 29 played minutes Svalstog BK got a freekick which was hit by Knut Ødegården. Ivar Opland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vebjørn Bjørnstad, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Vebjørn Bjørnstad struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Ivar Opland didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maria Mena. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vebjørn Bjørnstad in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ivar Opland saved Svalstog BK from getting behind. Romualdo Gibert's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 38thth minute, Ivar Opland skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Maria Mena's Marcu Hrebenciuc slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ivar Opland. That made the score 2-1 after 39 minutes of play. 45 minutes into the match, Maria Mena's Vebjørn Bjørnstad sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ivar Opland narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcu Hrebenciuc in the 50th minute of play forced Svalstog BK's goalkeeper Ivar Opland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcu Hrebenciuc was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Marcu Hrebenciuc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maria Mena's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcu Hrebenciuc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 62 minutes into the game, Maria Mena's Vebjørn Bjørnstad nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ivar Opland made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. After having played for 72 minutes, Yngve Tønder managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maria Mena's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yngve Tønder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 73 minutes into the match, Svalstog BK's goal looked a bit too open when Marcu Hrebenciuc came free, but Ivar Opland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ivar Opland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Are Sviland in the 75th minute of play. In the 77th minute Marcu Hrebenciuc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivar Opland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maria Mena's Romualdo Gibert suffered a sore thigh after 78 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 78 minutes, Max Leira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Svalstog BK and the Maria Mena players grew even worse after the yellow card. Maria Mena made a substitution. Valdemar Vogt replaced Romualdo Gibert. The supporters of Maria Mena booed when Svalstog BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Max Leira didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute of the match Vebjørn Bjørnstad sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ivar Opland skillfully saved the ball. Ivar Opland came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Maria Mena's Vebjørn Bjørnstad. But to his dismay, Vebjørn Bjørnstad quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. If David Fiskerstrand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nils-Johan Eidet hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdemar Vogt in the 94th minute of play forced Svalstog BK's goalkeeper Ivar Opland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
