Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) DSC Arminia Bielefeld's Lovis Urgien started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th minute, one of Spall FSV:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Spall FSV. Ulf Werlich might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Heiko Huffschmid. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ulf Werlich ran back to his position shaking his head. Maiko Gruber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Heiko Huffschmid tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maximilian Birk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rutger Renz having to interfere. In the 30thth minute of the game Lovis Urgien who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Spall FSV's Rutger Renz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Maiko Gruber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Heiko Huffschmid tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Spall FSV booed when DSC Arminia Bielefeld was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lemmy Dogan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ulf Werlich might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Heiko Huffschmid. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ulf Werlich ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Romeo Krause during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Romeo Krause hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Heiko Huffschmid was a little too slow when Ulf Werlich got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 38th minute. The score was now 2-1. 45 minutes into the game, Özgür Demski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Spall FSV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DSC Arminia Bielefeld the free kick. After a rather tough play, Spall FSV's Özgür Demski got a free kick in the 46th minute. In the 48th minute of the match Romeo Krause shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rutger Renz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ulf Werlich made a kick off. With a little luck, Spall FSV's Rutger Renz got control of the ball when Maximilian Birk tried to sneak it across the goal line. Maximilian Birk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rutger Renz having to interfere. In the 57th minute Ulf Werlich shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heiko Huffschmid saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Lovis Urgien came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the DSC Arminia Bielefeld fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lovis Urgien couldn't finish the play. 63 minutes into the match, Maiko Gruber had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Heiko Huffschmid. DSC Arminia Bielefeld's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maiko Gruber was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maiko Gruber in the 69th minute of play forced DSC Arminia Bielefeld's goalkeeper Heiko Huffschmid to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Spall FSV's Rutger Renz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Spall FSV from getting a goal against them. After having played for 80 minutes, Ulf Werlich managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Spall FSV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ulf Werlich was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Spall FSV's Rutger Renz got control of the ball when Maximilian Birk tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Maiko Gruber managed to get in a good position for a shot. Spall FSV's supporters rose to their feet, but Maiko Gruber was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Heiko Huffschmid breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 88th minute, Lovis Urgien fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Rutger Renz, passed just outside the right post. Heiko Huffschmid showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulf Werlich in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Maiko Gruber got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Many of DSC Arminia Bielefeld's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. DSC Arminia Bielefeld may have spent more time on the ball, but Spall FSV were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
