Spectators: 8630 (Terracing: 6460, Seating: 1990, VIP seats: 180) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alexander Sim started the match with the kick off. In the 4th match minute, Spang FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Sim to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Alexander Sim's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Albert Butcher was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Waterfoot's Firdauz Dyce got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 12th minute Faris Lee shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arif Lim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexander Sim was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 14th minute. Spang FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a rather tough play, Spang FC's Jerry Hongyi got a free kick in the 17th minute. If Khairil Vijiaratnam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hamir Pillai charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hamir Pillai the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 19th minute, Hamir Pillai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 23 minutes into the match, Spang FC's goal looked a bit too open when Khairil Vijiaratnam came free, but Arif Lim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albert Butcher didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alexander Sim went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The audience was convinced that Alexander Sim's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Albert Butcher was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Mark Ee hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Khai Nair in the 34th minute of play forced Waterfoot's goalkeeper Albert Butcher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Firdauz Dyce's late challenge caught a Spang FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Firdauz Dyce helped the player get up and apologised. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Alexander Sim put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Albert Butcher. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Faris Lee stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Khai Nair recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Alexander Sim put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Albert Butcher. Danish Choy struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Albert Butcher didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Spang FC. After a rather tough play, Spang FC's Jerry Hongyi got a free kick in the 80th minute. After a rather tough play, Spang FC's Sean Sim got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 91st minute, Danish Choy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Albert Butcher stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexander Sim's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. Spang FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Waterfoot for a fine match.
