When U21 Scotland's Hernández Fernández in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Albania's goalie prevented a goal. Markel Laraku made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Fergus Malcolm sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 8 minutes, Përparim Bajraktari managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Albania's supporters crossed their fingers, but Përparim Bajraktari was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in U21 Albania fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 12th minute. Penalty! Markel Laraku came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Scotland's Hernández Fernández. But to his dismay, Hernández Fernández quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Markel Laraku showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernández Fernández, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 20th match minute, U21 Scotland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mike Stalker to maneuver through the defense. The U21 Scotland fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when U21 Scotland's Brandon McConnach looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Minir Noli in the 25th minute of play forced U21 Scotland's goalkeeper Finlay McDermid to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Markel Laraku made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brandon McConnach in the 26th minute of play. If Hernández Fernández had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Skënder Kotomelo hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 34th minute, Hernández Fernández left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Scotland fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. In the 40th minute Hernández Fernández shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Markel Laraku saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to U21 Albania getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Bajram Olldashi hit a great ball. With his leg Markel Laraku managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when U21 Scotland's Hernández Fernández fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Minir Noli made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Hernández Fernández shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Markel Laraku saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of U21 Scotland booed when U21 Albania was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Minir Noli didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55thth minute of the game Hernández Fernández who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Albania's Markel Laraku was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Bajram Olldashi fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Albania's protests and gave Bajram Olldashi a yellow card for diving instead. In the 56th minute, Bajram Olldashi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 57 minutes into the match, U21 Scotland's Hernández Fernández broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Markel Laraku made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brandon McConnach in the 67th minute of play. Markel Laraku showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brandon McConnach in the 69th minute of the match. U21 Albania's Luan Boba was substituted for Hazbi Veleshta. Bajram Olldashi hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. The supporters of U21 Albania booed when U21 Scotland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mike Stalker didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 89th minute of the match, Xhevat Qeraxhiu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Finlay McDermid was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Kristi Abeshi kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Xhevat Qeraxhiu took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Finlay McDermid. Finlay McDermid dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The U21 Scotland fans cheered their team off the field, for while U21 Albania had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
