U21 Moldova's defense didn't have a chance, in the 7th minute, when Carlos Bueno scored to the left of an out of position Marian Cazacu, making the score, 1-0. Marian Cazacu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Lertora in the 9th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, U21 Moldova's Paşa Junel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sebastián Sosa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Carlos Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 22 minutes, Carlos Bueno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Uruguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Bueno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Bueno got free with Marian Cazacu in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 26 minutes into the match, U21 Moldova's goalkeeper Marian Cazacu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlos Bueno. The supporters of U21 Uruguay booed when U21 Moldova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filip Mititel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sebastián Sosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paşa Junel in the 29th minute of play. U21 Moldova's Marian Cazacu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Moldova from getting a goal against them. In the 38th minute Igor Cãpraru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastián Sosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sebastián Sosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filip Mititel in the 42nd minute of play. Sebastián Sosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filip Mititel, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Filip Mititel to make the kick off. Filip Mititel hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. U21 Moldova's Sandu Colesnic was substituted for Ion Tâbârnã. U21 Uruguay made a substitution. Policarpio Trarigo replaced Simon Lertora. U21 Uruguay's Quirce Lamas was substituted for Joel Tehas. After a rather tough play, U21 Moldova's Filip Mititel got a free kick in the 59th minute. Marian Cazacu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Policarpio Trarigo in the 68th minute of play. U21 Moldova's Marian Cazacu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vigil Algarte in the 70th minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, U21 Moldova's goal looked a bit too open when Vigil Algarte came free, but Marian Cazacu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marian Cazacu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vigil Algarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 75 minutes into the match, U21 Moldova's goal looked a bit too open when Quirce Lamas came free, but Marian Cazacu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arotza Uriona's late challenge caught a U21 Moldova's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arotza Uriona helped the player get up and apologised. In the 90th minute, Arotza Uriona hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 91 minutes into the match, U21 Uruguay's goalkeeper Sebastián Sosa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicu Vornic. Sebastián Sosa made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Controller Junel sent off a good shot on target. For all the effort they put into the match, the U21 Moldova players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for U21 Uruguay.
