He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in U21 Bolivia reached it. After 20 played minutes U21 Bolivia got a freekick which was hit by Dagoberto Abarca. A throw-in in the 23rd minute of the game was made by Uxio Abello with Manu Abajas as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Hector Dragana managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Hector Dragana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gonzalo Berdugo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 34th minute, Uxio Abello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 38th minute, Hector Dragana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. U21 Ecuador's Pat Lloret managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Manu Abajas in the 46 minute of the game. After a rather tough play, U21 Bolivia's Abraham Cabrera got a free kick in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dagoberto Abarca made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Argoitz Abeijon had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. When Hector Dragana fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Ecuador's protests and gave Hector Dragana a yellow card for diving instead. U21 Bolivia made a substitution. Itzaina Abastas replaced Argoitz Abeijon. The supporters of U21 Bolivia booed when U21 Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hector Dragana didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roris Taramona took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dagoberto Abarca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Omar Oruña, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 90 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Gonzalo Berdugo was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Omar Oruña took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gonzalo Berdugo. Gonzalo Berdugo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0.
