U21 Lithuania's Robertas Sabaitis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chesney Nicholson in the 2nd minute of play. Romualdas Ručinskas's late challenge caught a U21 England's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Romualdas Ručinskas helped the player get up and apologised. In the 5th minute Chesney Nicholson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robertas Sabaitis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes into the match, U21 Lithuania's goal looked a bit too open when Chesney Nicholson came free, but Robertas Sabaitis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chesney Nicholson took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Robertas Sabaitis. Robertas Sabaitis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 32 minutes into the game, Chesney Nicholson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 England's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Lithuania the free kick. After 33 played minutes U21 Lithuania got a freekick which was hit by Gražvydas Gylys. After a defensive mix-up in U21 England's zone, Albinas Albanov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sonny Pyrah came out of the goal and Albinas Albanov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 41st match minute, U21 Lithuania was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gytis Saudargis to maneuver through the defense. Chesney Nicholson took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Robertas Sabaitis. Robertas Sabaitis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After the first half U21 England were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Chesney Nicholson made the kick off in the second half. Chesney Nicholson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Robertas Sabaitis made a huge save. Gerry Sollit made in the 55th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Barney Jennings. With a little luck, U21 Lithuania's Robertas Sabaitis got control of the ball when Chesney Nicholson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Albinas Albanov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Sonny Pyrah tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to U21 Lithuania getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Gražvydas Gylys hit a great ball. U21 Lithuania's Adomas Pilipauskas was substituted for Gytis Saudargis. U21 Lithuania made a substitution. Vaclovas Kėbla replaced Albinas Albanov. In the 66th match minute, U21 Lithuania was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gražvydas Gylys to maneuver through the defense. U21 Lithuania's defense didn't have a chance, in the 67th minute, when Chesney Nicholson scored to the left of an out of position Robertas Sabaitis, making the score, 0-3. 75 minutes into the game, Chesney Nicholson lined in a short shot 0-4 behind a frustrated Robertas Sabaitis. U21 Lithuania's Kęstutis Kaupys was substituted for Gytis Skripkauskas. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Seb Towler in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Robertas Sabaitis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, U21 Lithuania's Romualdas Ručinskas got a free kick in the 91st minute. A collision led to U21 England getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Seb Towler hit a great ball.
