With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christijan Schreuder in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilles Eekhout saved U21 Belgium from getting behind. In the 60th match minute, U21 Belgium was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alain Vandam to maneuver through the defense. 66 minutes into the match, U21 Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Robertinho Carabajal came free, but Albert Mans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 Belgium's supporters rose to their feet, but Binne Koppermann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albert Mans breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
