Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Trinidad & Tobago's Austin Eve started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Austin Eve could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Roman Čekalović made a huge save. Croatia's Roman Čekalović proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Croatia from getting a goal against them. A sloppy throw-in by Natko Ljubičić in the 11th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Trinidad & Tobago's Gregory Peru. In the 15th match minute, Croatia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Đino Tepavac to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Croatia booed when Trinidad & Tobago was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gregory Peru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jamal Vidale made a great header on Trinidad & Tobago's corner, it was just that Croatia's Roman Čekalović managed to reach the ball for a save. Roman Čekalović stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Austin Eve's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Croatia's Roman Čekalović played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Austin Eve in the 23rd minute of play. Roman Čekalović took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Austin Eve, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kazimir Pendo in the 29th minute of play forced Trinidad & Tobago's goalkeeper Dwight Eversley Bissambhar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Austin Eve received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Roman Čekalović tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jamal Vidale kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Natko Ljubičić recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 37 in the game by Austin Eve from a close distance when the talented Roman Čekalović managed to make a qualified save. Croatia's players were relieved. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kazimir Pendo in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dwight Eversley Bissambhar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A sloppy throw-in by Subhas Rahamut in the 41st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Croatia's Tihomir Antić. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kazimir Pendo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Kazimir Pendo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Trinidad & Tobago's Dwight Eversley Bissambhar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Trinidad & Tobago from getting a goal against them. 60 minutes into the game, Đino Tepavac recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dwight Eversley Bissambhar. Đino Tepavac showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. Trinidad & Tobago's Austin Eve got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Croatia made a substitution. August Sarač replaced Kazimir Pendo. Trinidad & Tobago's Gregory Peru quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Natko Ljubičić, made in the 68th minute of the game. In the 69th minute, Kwame McClean hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roman Čekalović made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Austin Eve in the 71st minute of play. In the 74th minute, Austin Eve ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roman Čekalović was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 82nd minute Austin Eve shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roman Čekalović saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Gregory Peru in the 84th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Croatia's Tihomir Antić. If August Sarač had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dwight Eversley Bissambhar made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when August Sarač sent off a good shot on target. When Ato Jabari Ramjohn-Richards fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Trinidad & Tobago's protests and gave Ato Jabari Ramjohn-Richards a yellow card for diving instead. After 88 played minutes Trinidad & Tobago got a freekick which was hit by Ato Jabari Ramjohn-Richards. August Sarač scored 1-2 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dwight Eversley Bissambhar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dansam Gift fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roman Čekalović having to interfere. Đino Tepavac's late challenge caught a Trinidad & Tobago's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Đino Tepavac helped the player get up and apologised. Đino Tepavac hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Croatia made a substitution. Sandi Cvjetković replaced Đino Tepavac.
