He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in U21 Belgium reached it. Cees Remmelts's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 24thth minute, Axell Stuycken skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Anton Davids showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robbin Laurent, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. U21 Belgium's Axell Stuycken proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Belgium from getting a goal against them. Axell Stuycken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Levi Schaap in the 31st minute of play. Axell Stuycken showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cees Remmelts, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Anton Davids made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robbin Laurent in the 38th minute of play. 43 minutes into the match, U21 Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Matias Sabbe came free, but Anton Davids reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 Belgium's Axell Stuycken played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matthijs van Persie in the 46th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ludovít Reis in the 48th minute of play forced U21 Belgium's goalkeeper Axell Stuycken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

A collision led to U21 Netherlands getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Evert Koning hit a great ball. With a little luck, U21 Netherlands's Anton Davids got control of the ball when Robbin Laurent tried to sneak it across the goal line. Anton Davids made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lode De Coster in the 54th minute. Spas Spitzmüller kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cees Remmelts in the 58th minute of play forced U21 Belgium's goalkeeper Axell Stuycken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anton Davids was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Robbin Laurent showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 61 minute of play. Axell Stuycken came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Netherlands's Matthijs van Persie. But to his dismay, Matthijs van Persie quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Binjamin Van Arschot kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 70th minute of the match Levi Schaap shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Axell Stuycken showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Axell Stuycken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evert Koning in the 73rd minute of play. U21 Belgium's Axell Stuycken played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Spas Spitzmüller in the 78th minute of play. Anton Davids made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lode De Coster in the 82nd minute. The supporters of U21 Belgium booed when U21 Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evert Koning didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute Matias Sabbe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anton Davids saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, U21 Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Robbin Laurent came free, but Anton Davids reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 Belgium's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
