Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Marteinn Palermo made the kick off and thus started the match. A collision led to U21 Slovenia getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Miodrag Draksler hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristian Jaliens in the 4th minute of play forced U21 Slovenia's goalkeeper Robert Koštomaj to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Billy de Witte charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Billy de Witte the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Billy de Witte kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. 7 minutes into the game, Pavel Pakar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Slovenia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Netherlands the free kick. Pavel Pakar hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. U21 Netherlands's Marteinn Palermo got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zdenko Švab kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. After 12 played minutes U21 Slovenia got a freekick which was hit by Tim Schottler. Kristian Jaliens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Robert Koštomaj made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kristian Jaliens in the 16th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Diderik Schenning hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the match, U21 Slovenia's goal looked a bit too open when Kristian Jaliens came free, but Robert Koštomaj reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfred Brouwers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pavel Pakar, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zdenko Švab during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Zdenko Švab hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, U21 Slovenia's Alfred Brouwers threw himself towards the right post 29 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Pavel Pakar, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Robert Koštomaj stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kristian Jaliens's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. If Marteinn Palermo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfred Brouwers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pavel Pakar, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tim Schottler stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tim Schottler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfred Brouwers having to interfere. After 53 played minutes U21 Slovenia got a freekick which was hit by Tonček Kraljič. The referee felt a red card was in order, 57 minutes into the game, when Veljko Greiser put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in U21 Slovenia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 56th minute. Penalty! After 61st play minutes Hans Rieks shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Robert Koštomaj and just under the crossbar into goal. 67 minutes into the game, Bastian Herga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Slovenia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Netherlands the free kick. U21 Slovenia made a substitution. Timo Werner replaced Pavel Pakar. In the 66th minute, one of U21 Slovenia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for U21 Slovenia. In the 72nd play minute Marteinn Palermo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Robert Koštomaj. 0-3. U21 Slovenia made a substitution. Stašo Pečovnik replaced Zdenko Švab. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timo Werner in the 88th minute of play forced U21 Netherlands's goalkeeper Alfred Brouwers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Timo Werner scored 1-4 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfred Brouwers, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marteinn Palermo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert Koštomaj having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lieven Kapotas got free with Robert Koštomaj in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The U21 Slovenia fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. U21 Netherlands were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
