An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugenijus Bajorūnas in the 14th minute of play forced U21 Czech Republic's goalkeeper Karel Janeba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When U21 Lithuania's Eugenijus Bajorūnas in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Czech Republic's goalie prevented a goal. Gvidonas Tautkevičius ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Gvidonas Tautkevičius almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but U21 Czech Republic's Karel Janeba did a great save. In the 35th minute, Eugenijus Bajorūnas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugenijus Bajorūnas in the 38th minute of play forced U21 Czech Republic's goalkeeper Karel Janeba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 39 played minutes U21 Czech Republic got a freekick which was hit by Hynek Pažout. U21 Czech Republic's Karel Janeba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugenijus Bajorūnas in the 41st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Lithuania's zone, Rostislav Řezáč stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donatas Simutis came out of the goal and Rostislav Řezáč tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. U21 Lithuania's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gvidonas Tautkevičius in the 45th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Henryk Maceček to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Eugenijus Bajorūnas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Donatas Simutis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henryk Maceček in the 63rd minute of the match. Karel Janeba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugenijus Bajorūnas, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Laurynas Baltūsis replaced Gvidonas Tautkevičius. After having played for 75 minutes, Valdas Pilvinis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Lithuania's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valdas Pilvinis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Karel Janeba stood somewhat misplaced when Herkus Plingis came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 80 minute. Eidvilas Bložė sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Donatas Simutis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hynek Pažout, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Herkus Plingis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Herkus Plingis who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 88thth minute tested the skills of Karel Janeba when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Herkus Plingis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 88thth minute, Karel Janeba skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After having played for 90 minutes, Herkus Plingis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Lithuania's supporters crossed their fingers, but Herkus Plingis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Josef Koucký in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Donatas Simutis saved U21 Lithuania from getting behind. In the 93rdth minute of the game Josef Koucký who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Lithuania's Donatas Simutis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 94 minutes into the game, Eidvilas Bložė recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Karel Janeba. Eidvilas Bložė showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. The U21 Lithuania players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
